English stardards for term D Project.
I been reading my Nfl book about football,NFl's Experience.I've learn more about football,it had many thing like all stars football players and pro bowlers, they even had the information about the firts championship.
They had a specific player name jim brown that i was intrested. He was a running back he played college ball at scyracuse, he was taken by the cleveland brown in the 1956 NFL draft. He was a running back/fullback in the NFl because of his wieght and size he played fullback he easiesly run over a linebacker. He departed as the NFL record holder for both single-season (1,863 in 1963) and career rushing (12,312 yards), as well as the all-time leader in rushing touchdowns (106), total touchdowns (126), and all-purpose yards (15,549).He was first player to reach the 100 rushing milestone and fro 100 touchdowns.
The First Championship game.
The NFl first 12 year (1920-1931),there was a tie with two teams that had the same percentage.
The Chicago Bears had (6-1-6) and the Portsmouth Spartans. So they had a plan to have a playoff game to determine they best team. But a blizzard hit the Midwest in the week before the game.So when that was over they played the first championship game in 1933.

rubgy
The game of rugby football developed from a version of football played at Rugby School and was originally one of several different versions of football played at English Public Schools during the 19th century.
The game of football which was played at Rugby School between 1750 and 1859 permitted handling of the ball, but no-one was allowed to run with it in their hands towards the opposition's goal. There was no fixed limit to the number of players per side and sometimes there were hundreds taking part in a kind of enormous rolling maul. This sport caused major injury at times. The innovation of running with the ball was introduced some time between 1859 and 1865. William Webb Ellis has been credited with breaking the local rules by running forwards with the ball in a game in 1823. Shortly after this written rules were established for the sports which had earlier just involved local agreements, and boys from Rugby School produced the first written rules for their version of the sport in 1870.
Around this time the influence of Dr Thomas Arnold, Rugby's headmaster, was beginning to be felt around all the other public schools, and his emphasis on sport as part of a balanced education naturally encouraged the general adoption of the Rugby rules across the country, and, ultimately, the world

scores.
When teams score they get 6 points for a touchdown and the extra point counts for 1 so they will end up getting 7 pionts for the touchdown and the field goal. And they other way you can get a points is by kicking a field goal which is worht 3 points .If the teams come to a tie they have to flip a coin and who has the ball has the first chance to win. So if they go to over the first team that scores will win the game.
some football rules!!
American football is played on a field 360 by 160 feet (109.7 by 48.8 m).[13] The longer boundary lines are sidelines, while the shorter boundary lines are end lines. Sidelines and end lines are out of bounds. Near each end of the field is a goal line; they are 100 yards (91.4 m) apart. A scoring area called an end zone extends 10 yards (9.1 m) beyond each goal line to each end line. The end zone includes the goal line but not the end line.[13] While the playing field is effectively flat, it is common for a field to be built with a slight crown—with the middle of the field higher than the sides—to allow water to drain from the field.

number order
Numbers 20 to 49 are worn by running backs, tight ends (40-49, when an 80-89 number is unavailable), cornerbacks and safeties.
Numbers 50 to 59 are worn by linebackers and defensive linemen and offensive linemen.
Numbers 60 to 79 are worn by members of both the offensive line (the tackles, guards and centers) and defensive line (the defensive ends, defensive tackles or nose guard).
Numbers 80 to 89 are worn by wide receivers and tight ends.
Numbers 90 to 99 are worn by linebackers and defensive linemen. In effect since 1984.
Numbers 0 and 00 are no longer used, though they were issued in the NFL before the number standardization in 1973. George Plimpton famously wore 0 during a brief preseason stint at quarterback for the Detroit Lions. Jim Otto wore number "00" ("aught-oh") during most of his career with the Oakland Raiders. Wide receiver Ken Burrough of the Houston Oilers also wore "00" during his NFL career in the 1970s. This is how they get there numbers by position.
college game

In an era in which football was a major attraction of local athletic clubs, an intense competition between two Pittsburgh-area clubs, the Allegheny Athletic Association (AAA) and the Pittsburgh Athletic Club (PAC), led to the making of the first professional football player. Former Yale All-America guard William (Pudge) Heffelfinger was paid $500 by the AAA to play in a game against the PAC, becoming the first person to be paid to play football, November 12. The AAA won the game 4-0 when Heffelfinger picked up a PAC fumble and ran 35 yards for a touchdown.

history of football
Football began to develop in the 1800s. Football was originally a combination of soccer and rugby.
In 1874, the first game resembling present-day football was played. The game was between Harvard and McGill College. As we said, at this time, they played football like soccer and rugby. Harvard wanted to play the game like soccer, and McGill wanted to play the game like rugby. So you can see there was a lot of confusion. They decided to play two games. One game was played like rugby and the other game was played like soccer.
After the two games, Harvard agreed that McGill's way (like rugby) was better. They liked it so much that they decided to introduce the sport to other Eastern colleges. And that was how college football began.
The first NFL (National Football League) game was played on August 31, 1895 between a team from Latrobe, PA and a team from Jeannette. Jeannette lost 12-0. It wasn't really until the 1950s though that the NFL earned its popularity.
